Job Overview:

The Assistant Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in the procurement or talent acquisition process by identifying, evaluating, and engaging with suppliers or candidates to meet  organizational needs. This role involves conducting market research, negotiating contracts, and building strong relationships to ensure the company receives the best value in terms of  quality, cost, and delivery.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate market trends.
  2. Analyze supplier capabilities, financial stability, and risk factors to ensure long-term partnerships.
  3. Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.
  4. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
  5. Negotiate pricing, terms, and service-level agreements to maximize value and minimize risk.
  6. Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues to ensure compliance with contractual and quality standards.
  7. Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, supplier data, and contract documentation.
  8. Identify opportunities for cost savings, value creation, and process improvements.
  9. Support new product development by sourcing materials and components in line with design and cost targets.
  10. Participate in supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality, ethical, and sustainability standards.
  11. Develop, expand, and diversify the supplier base to reduce dependency and enhance supply chain resilience.

 

Job Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s of Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
  3. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  4. Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  5. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  6. Sense of urgency
