A Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of new product development projects. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensuring that new products are developed in line with the company’s strategic goals and customer needs.

This role is important to the successful development new product and as the key point of contact for stakeholders and ensures that the product development process is efficient, timely, and meets quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
    • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
    • Lead the execution of the project plan, ensuring milestones are met on
    time and within budget.
  2. Cross-Functional Team Leadership:
    • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure all aspects of the product development are aligned.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members, ensuring that each department’s needs and contributions are considered.
  3. Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and external partners.
    • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
    • Monitor project risks throughout the development process and adjust plans as necessary to ensure project success.
  5. Budget and Resource Management:
    • Manage the project budget, ensuring that expenditures are tracked and stay within approved limits.
    • Allocate resources effectively, ensuring that team members have the necessary tools, equipment, and support to complete their tasks..
  6. Timeline Management:
    • Create and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring that each phase of product development is completed on time.
    • Adjust timelines and resources as needed to accommodate changes in project scope or unforeseen challenges.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, risk assessments, and progress reports.
    • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and other stakeholders.

Job Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Engineering or Project Management.
  2. A master’s degree or PMP certification is an advantage

         Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of the manufacturing industry (Plastic & Assembly).
  • Knowledge of product development processes, including design,
  • prototyping, testing, and manufacturing
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile,Waterfall)

           Additional Skills

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project)

          Problem-Solving Skills

  • Creativity: Finding innovative solutions to complex problems that may arise during the program.
  • Resourceful: Effectively utilizing available resources to address issues and achieve program goals.

          Analytical Thinking:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, make data-driven decisions, and develop strategic plans.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and resource allocation.

          Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years previous experience Project Management in NPD Project role. Experience in manufacturing or technology Product Home Appliances is preferred.
