Job Overview:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities across both the support facility and production line. This role ensures the smooth functioning of plant equipment, machinery, and infrastructure by leading a team of maintenance technicians, managing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, and minimizing production downtime.

 

Job Responsibilities:

1.  Maintenance Operations FOZ One

  • Supervise daily maintenance activities for both support facilities (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems) and production lines.
  • Plan, schedule, and ensure timely execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across facility and production equipment.

 

2. Team Management

  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Delegate tasks and monitor work performance for safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and skills development initiatives.

 

 3. Team Leadership

  • Supervise and guide storekeepers, material handlers, and warehouse assistants.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor staff productivity.
  • Provide training on material handling, safety, and ESD compliance.

 

4. Equipment & Facility Oversight

  • Ensure all machinery and facility infrastructure are operating at optimal performance.
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain facility utilities and services such as power, air, and water systems.

 

     5. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and legal standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA).
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members follow proper procedures.
  • Maintain and update maintenance records, inspection logs, and safety checklists.

 

6. Inventory & Budgeting

  • Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available.
  • Track maintenance costs, prepare budgets, and suggest cost-saving improvements.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors for external maintenance services.

 

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and production efficiency improvements.
  • Suggest and lead projects to upgrade or improve equipment and facility performance.
  • Authority to assign, monitor, and evaluate maintenance staff tasks and schedules.
  • Recommend hiring, disciplinary actions, or termination to management.

 

8. Operational Decisions

  • Approve and prioritize daily maintenance activities and resource allocation.
  • Initiate emergency repairs without higher-level approval.

 

     9. Vendor/Contractor Management

  • Select and oversee third-party contractors for specialized maintenance work.
  • Approve contractor work scope, timelines, and quality before sign-off.

 

     10. Budget and Purchasing

  • Request purchase of spare parts, tools, or services within approved budget limits.
  • Recommend capital improvements or replacements for critical facility assets.

 

     11. Compliance Enforcement

  • Enforce safety policies and procedures within the maintenance team and contractors
  • Stop work or equipment operation if safety or regulatory violations are identified.

 

     12. Project Leadership

  • Lead facility-related improvement projects as delegated by Facility/Plant Manager.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs and ensure on-time project execution.

 

Job Qualification:

  1. Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical training.
  2. Minimum 5+ years in industrial maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  3. Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  4. In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
  5. Proficient in reading technical drawings and manuals.
  6. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  7. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
