Job Responsibilities:

1.  Process Optimization:

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for box build products, including rice cookers and air fryers.
  • Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and standardize work instructions, assembly procedures, and quality checkpoints.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the production line to improve throughput and reduce cycle times.

2.  Production Support:

  • Provide technical support to the production team to resolve assembly and quality issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical, electrical, and electronic components (e.g., heating elements, PCBA, wiring harnesses).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Supply Chain) to ensure smooth production ramp-up and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor production metrics (e.g., yield, defect rates, downtime) and implement effective corrective actions.

3.  Equipment & Tooling:

  • Specify, design, and validate assembly jigs, fixtures, and tooling for box build products.
  • Set up and calibrate production equipment, including:
    i. Automated assembly machines.
    ii. Testing equipment (e.g., leakage testers, power consumption testers, functional testers).
    iii. Conveyor systems and robotic arms (if applicable).
  • Define equipment parameters (e.g., torque settings, temperature profiles, cycle times) to ensure consistent product quality.

4.  Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans to ensure products meet specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis for production defects and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Perform process capability studies and ensure processes operate within control limits.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS, FCC) for small home appliances.

5.  New Product Introduction (NPI):

  • Support the seamless transition of new products (e.g., rice cookers, air fryers) from design to mass production.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D to ensure manufacturability and scalability of new designs.
  • Conduct pilot runs and rigorously validate production processes for new products.
  • Document lessons learned and implement process improvements for future NPI projects.

6.  Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for significant improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in small home appliance manufacturing.

 

Job Qualification:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

2. Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in small home appliances (e.g., rice cookers, air fryers, blenders).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical assembly processes.
  • Experience with high-volume production environments and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS, FCC)

3. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with plastic injection moulding and sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory management.
  • Certification in Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing.

4. Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture and tooling design.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of automation and robotics in manufacturing is a plus.

5. Working Conditions:

  • This role may require occasional travel to supplier or manufacturing sites.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple priorities
