A strategic and experienced Engineering Director will lead project development, manage engineering operations to meet company goals, and foster high-performing teams while ensuring manufacturing excellence and stakeholder alignment.

Engineering Director is expected to play an active role in the development and completion of projects, meet and report back to senior management, plan and monitor work schedules and cash flows, and work with multiple and diverse teams. Some of the responsibilities also include aligning engineering activities and projects with company goals and objectives, providing expert guidance and support, approving newly developed policies from various departments, and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Engineering Director ensures that the manufacturing processes adhere to the UPH, Capacity, and Quality requirements. The Engineering Director collaborates closely with the R&D team, Test Development, and Site Manufacturing team to successfully implement the appropriate processes for mass production. The Engineering Director manages a team of ME Managers, Engineers, and Technicians.

Engineering Director should have exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills, years of management experience, and a belief in developing the skills and talents of others. Ideal candidates will have experience in identifying and navigating organizational changes, a keen interest in international trends in engineering and leadership, and strong emotional intelligence.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting directly to the Executive Chairman.
  2. Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Developing and optimizing Product Manufacturing Process Maps.
  4. Conducting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) Reviews.
  5. Driving Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  6. Developing suitable assembly and automation solutions to align with site requirements.
  7. Designing and implementing robust and cost-effective manufacturing fixtures.
  8. Implementing best practice engineering methods.
  9. Providing technical guidance to engineering teams and top management.
  10. Supporting established organizational objectives by developing strategic goals and plans.
  11. Presenting budgets and plans.
  12. Identifying and implementing strategies to improve cost-efficiency.
  13. Managing staff recruitment, onboarding, and termination processes.

 

Job Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  2. Extensive relevant experience (12+ years) in a large-scale manufacturing industry.
  3. Action-mindset.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of current industry trends and best practices.
