Job Responsibilities:

  • Soldering & Assembly

    ·       Perform manual soldering of through-hole, SMD/SMT, and fine-pitch components on PCBs, including work under microscope

    ·       Assemble cable harnesses, wire looms, and connector assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications

    ·       Carry out rework and desoldering of faulty or replaced components with minimal board damage

    ·       Build and integrate mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies as part of prototype development

    Prototyping Support

    ·       Work directly alongside hardware engineers during the prototyping phase — build first-article samples, assist with design iterations, and flag assembly concerns early

    ·       Interpret schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and work instructions to execute builds independently

    ·       Assist in setting up and validating test jigs, fixtures, and lab equipment

    Testing & Quality

    ·       Perform functional checks and basic electrical testing on assembled boards and systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators

    ·       Inspect finished assemblies against IPC-A-610 workmanship standards; document and report defects clearly

    ·       Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for assembly-related issues

    Lab Operations

    ·       Maintain a well-organized, ESD-safe lab environment; enforce safe handling practices for sensitive components

    ·       Manage lab consumables inventory — solder, flux, tools, components — and raise replenishment requests proactively

    ·       Document assembly procedures, rework records, and test results accurately

Job Qualification:

  1. Diploma or Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent
  2. Minimum 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly and soldering (R&D, prototyping, or low-volume production environment preferred)
  3. Demonstrated experience with both SMT and through-hole soldering; fine-pitch and BGA rework experience is a strong advantage
  4. Experience supporting engineering teams in a prototype lab setting is highly valued
  5. Able to use and interpret oscilloscopes, multimeters, LCR meters, and basic bench instruments
  6. Able to read and follow schematics, PCB layout files, and assembly drawings
